Charlie Day And Rob McElhenney Take Top Honors At The 15th Annual Emmys® Golf Classic
Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Sam Page and Joel Murray among winners in the Television Academy Foundation's golf benefit
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Television Academy Foundation announced the winners of its 15th annual Emmys® Golf Classic. Co-presented by L.A. LIVE for the sixth consecutive year, the annual fundraiser took place at the Wilshire Country Club. The diverse group of television stars, industry leaders, tastemakers and media teed-off Monday to raise money and show their support for the Foundation.
Top Low Net finishers at this year's Emmys Golf Classic included:
1st place: Team Gensler & Matt Construction with celebrities Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney
2nd place: Team Audi with Chris Rich
3rd place: Team Turner Entertainment with Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Bret Harrison
Sam Page, Joel Gretsch and Joel Murray also came out on top, winning the Closest to the Pin and Low Gross categories.
"The Emmys® Golf Classic is a chance for celebrities and industry leaders alike to enjoy a day of golf while raising funds and awareness in support of the Foundation's educational programs," said Norma Provencio Pichardo, Executive Director of the Television Academy Foundation. "We were thrilled with the roster of golfers this year and enjoyed seeing everyone on the course."
Other celebrities that joined included, Ray Romano, Jonathan Banks, Jay Ferguson, Kate Linder, Joe Mantegna, James Remar, Brekin Meyer, C.S. Lee and Robbie Amell.
As the Foundation's largest fundraising effort of the year, proceeds from the tournament will benefit its key educational programs including an acclaimed television industry college student internship program, its annual College Television Awards and the online Archive of American Television. Celebrities also signed a one-of-a-kind Dooney & Burke bag, specially designed for the golf tournament.
