Charles Slater Appointed Senior Sales Representative for Bergen International

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J., April 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles Slater has been appointed Senior Sales Representative at Bergen International LLC.  The announcement was made by Richard Long, CFO. Mr. Slater will be responsible for sales of Bergen International's Foamazol™ chemical foaming agents for the plastics processing industry in the Western U.S.  Mr. Slater will operate out of Camas, WA.

He comes to Bergen International with over 15 years of plastics industry experience in sales and marketing, supply chain management and distribution, regulatory compliance and technical service; as well as product research, development, and manufacturing. Mr. Slater has held a number of positions including business director, business manager, regional sales manager, and senior technical service representative.

Mr. Slater has an extensive polymer additives industry background including experience with oleochemical manufacturers Lutianhua Group Inc. and Croda Universal Ltd. In addition, he has experience in FDA-approved antioxidants, UV stabilizers, and flame retardants while at Dover Chemical Corp.; UV absorbers, hindered amine light stabilizers, antistatic agents, and antioxidants while at American Cyanamid (now Cytec Industries); antioxidants, impact modifiers, alkyl phenols, petrochemicals, and cresylic acids while at GE Plastics/Specialty Chemicals (now Chemtura).

Mr. Slater holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati, with patents and publications in the polymer additives arena, and has been active in trade associations for the plastics industry including SPI, SPE, and TAPPI.

Bergen International's Foamazol™ chemical foaming agents are available for use in most plastic applications, such as structural foam molding, profile and sheet extrusion, blown and extruded films, injection molding, wood-plastics composite, wire and cable, blow molded containers, polypropylene ribbon extrusion and others.  Foamazol™ CFAs are available in endothermic, exothermic and endo/exo blends.
