Charie Zanck Elected Chairman of the Illinois Bankers Association
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Illinois Bankers Association (IBA) announced that Charie Zanck has been elected Chairman of the IBA for 2013-2014. Zanck is Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Community Bank & Trust in Woodstock, Ill. She was elected at the IBA's 122nd Annual Conference and Trade Show on June 26 at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch in St. Louis.
An organizer of the bank, she has been CEO of American Community Bank & Trust since it opened in March of 2000. Prior to that, she worked in various capacities for a $4.5 billion holding company in northern Illinois. She holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago School of Business.
Zanck is currently serving as president of the Challenger Learning Center for Science & Technology and serves as chairman of the board of governors of Centegra Health System. She is past chairman of the McHenry County Economic Development Corporation and the Woodstock Economic Development Corporation, past president of Friends of McHenry County College Foundation, Woodstock Business and Professional Women, and the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is a previous board member of numerous organizations, including Leadership Greater McHenry County and United Way McHenry County.
Zanck has received numerous awards, including the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Industry Harold Buschkopf Community Service Award for 2002, the Northwestern Financial Review Outstanding Women in Banking Award for 2001, and the McHenry County Business Journal's LUCI (Leading Us in Commerce and Industry ) Financial Services Award.
