Change the Equation Announces 26 Corporate Signatories to its Commitment to Excellence in STEM
Signatories pledge to make STEM literacy a reality for all U.S. high school graduates
WASHINGTON, May 16, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Change the Equation's (CTEq) Commitment to Excellence in STEM is galvanizing the corporate community to increase science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) literacy in the U.S. Signatory companies, in signing the Commitment, are pledging to ensure that their collective contribution to K-12 STEM learning has an impact far beyond its combined financial investment, which is less than one percent of the total expenditures on K-12 education.
The linchpins of the Commitment are collaboration with other corporations as well as programs and communities; high expectations for all students; data-driven advocacy for STEM; and the availability of high-quality STEM learning programs in communities across the country.

"The public declaration of support for the Commitment and the actions that will ensue from the corporate community recognizes STEM literacy as a transformative life-skill that impacts the future success of our young people and the ability of our nation to remain a leader in innovation."
