Change of Scenery Requires Change of Clothes
CHICAGO, July 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- When heading out for a summer weekend, 54 percent of travelers pack three - four changes of clothing according to surveys conducted by GO Airport Express, a Chicago-based ground transportation and GO Airport Shuttle, an international transportation provider.
Of the more than 330 people who responded to the survey, just 16 percent said they only pack one or two outfits. Twenty percent said they packed five to six and eight percent of respondents said they pack seven or more.
Not surprisingly, women needed more clothing options than men, with 24 percent saying they pack five to six outfits compared with 16 percent of men. Ten percent of women pack seven or more changes of clothes, while seven percent of men said they did so.
"Despite ever-increasing fees for both carry-ons and checked baggage, people are still packing as much as they want or feel they need for vacation, even if it's just for a short get-away," says John McCarthy, president, GO Airport Express.
GO Airport Express, one of the oldest companies in Chicago, traces its founding to 1853 and the Parmelee Transportation Company, which provided a carriage service between Chicago's railroad stations and the downtown hotels. The GO Group LLC is the nation's largest airport transportation provider, serving some 60 airports in North America, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe and transporting more than 13 million passengers per year.
