Change Joins the K1x Collective to Expand Compliance Support for Nonprofits

The partnership brings Change's AI-enabled compliance technology to K1x customers, complementing K1x's Form 990 offering

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Change, a leading technology platform for charitable giving and compliance, has joined the K1x Collective™, K1x's partner ecosystem for tax and compliance technology and services. Through the partnership, K1x nonprofit customers will gain access to Change's California charitable registration and renewal product, expanding the compliance support available alongside K1x's Form 990 technology.

K1x helps tax-exempt organizations streamline Form 990 preparation, review, and IRS-certified e-filing. Change complements that offering by helping nonprofits manage a separate state-level obligation: charitable registration. Nonprofits that operate or solicit charitable contributions in California may be required to register with the California Attorney General's Registry of Charities and Fundraisers and maintain that registration through ongoing renewals.

The requirement has become increasingly important as nonprofits raise funds online. Under California AB 488, charitable fundraising platforms must consider a nonprofit's California and IRS status when determining whether the organization is eligible to receive donations through their platform. Keeping charitable registrations current can therefore play a critical role in maintaining access to online fundraising.

K1x customers can create a Change account and complete the centralized questionnaire.
