10 Who Are 10 Annual Awards Supports Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" Initiative

WASHINGTON, May 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Thursday, May 27th Washington D.C. Public Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee will present ten 10-year-old fourth and fifth graders with $2000 scholarship grants towards their college education thanks to the 17th Annual 10 Who Are 10 Awards Competition. The 2010 creative theme "Let's Move it Monday," fostered by The Monday Campaigns, focuses on the importance of healthy eating in schools.

"'Let's Move It Monday' dovetails beautifully with the First Lady's anti-obesity initiative and has helped inspire 10 achieving children from the D.C. Public Schools to create 10 extraordinary projects," says Sid Lerner, Chairman of The Monday Campaigns.

The ten 2010 awardees are: Clay Baldwin, Mann Elementary School; Daniela Castro, Thomson Elementary School; Akari Davidson, Janney Elementary School; Ashara Ford, Nalle Elementary School; Sierra Lewter, Lafayette Elementary School; Erikah Moore, Leckie Elementary School; John Leo Ourand, Key Elementary School; Taylor Simpson, Hyde-Addison Elementary School; James Stewart, Ross Elementary School; Illily Tola, Amidon-Bowen Elementary School.
