WASHINGTON, May 8, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In recognition of her career dedicated to making a better world, IREX presented the 2014 Founders' Day award to Ms. Liz Schrayer, founding Executive Director of the US Global Leadership Coalition. USGLC is a highly-respected broad based coalition of 400 businesses and nonprofits, chaired by General Colin Powell. USGLC seeks to build a better, safer world through advocacy and education about the importance of our non-military tools of global engagement.

Schrayer graciously accepted the award at IREX's 46th anniversary celebration this week. Ms. Schrayer is also President of Schrayer & Associates, Inc., a nationwide political consulting firm specializing in grassroots organizing. Previously, she served as the national Political Director of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) for more than a decade. She worked on Capitol Hill, founding the Congressional Human Rights Caucus and in state Government. She has traveled across the country organizing citizen advocates in every state and on various issues. Ms. Schrayer currently serves as a member of ACVFA (Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid) for USAID.
