Champion Energy Services Signs as Grand Sponsor of Houston Express Soccer Club
HOUSTON, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott Fordham, president and chief executive officer, today announced that Champion Energy Services (championenergyservices.com) has signed as grand sponsor of Houston Express Soccer Club (houstonexpresssoccer.org), one of the leading youth soccer clubs in southeast Texas.
As the club's inaugural sponsor, Champion Energy has made a number of significant commitments to the league, including a seed gift to the league, coupled with a matching gift for each renewal or new residential electricity service enrollment with Champion Energy using the promo code HESC; practice jerseys for the nearly 1,400 recreational-level players, coaches and volunteers; upgraded uniform kits for the club's Express "navy" teams in the U11 and above age groups; sponsorship signage at the South Campus Sports Association's soccer fields; and seed and matching gift funding for the Champion Energy Express Soccer Scholarship Fund to help provide less-fortunate players with the opportunity to play soccer by assisting them in the payment of training and other related fees.
"Youth sports are a primary hub for community spirit, and Champion Energy is honored to serve as the first grand sponsor of Houston Express Soccer," said Fordham. "We are committed to supporting the communities in which we live and serve, and our sponsorship of Houston Express Soccer reflects Champion Energy's dedication to supporting youth sports."
"Our club works with and encourages our players to be champions, not only on the soccer field, but more importantly, at home, at school, in our community and in life," said club president Bob Corrigan. "Champion Energy Services' generosity will help us grow our program and reach players who currently do not have the option to play club soccer."
Taking a cue from its grand sponsor, the club's under-8 girls and under-11, under-12 and under-15 boys all captured tournament championships in the first weekend of fall tournament competition. The under-10 and under-12 girls and the under-14 boys advanced to their respective tournament finals.
Houston Express Soccer Club, organized in 1978, registers more than 2,300 players a year and offers playing opportunities at the recreational and competitive level for players ages four to eighteen. Serving the southwest region of Houston, the club is home to two defending state champions.
