Chamberlain Group's Martin Heckmann to Present at Parks Associates' CONNECTIONS™ Conference
Chamberlain Executive to Discuss Connected-Home Insights
ELMHURST, Ill., May 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Martin Heckmann, director of emerging business at Chamberlain, the leader in garage door opener innovation and home access, is scheduled to speak at the Parks Associates' 21st-annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference. The CONNECTIONS™ event, May 23-25 at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, includes more than 700 executives, focusing on ways to engage consumers and grow revenues in the converging IoT industries, including smart home, connected health, and mobile and entertainment ecosystems.
Heckmann will participate in a session titled "The Future of the Connected Consumer" on May 23 at 3:30 pm PDT. This interactive panel, moderated by Tom Kerber, director, IoT strategy for Parks Associates, will include industry leaders and visionaries who will discuss the changes impacting broadband households today, and how IoT innovations will shape the identity of the connected consumer.
Research by Parks Associates finds the connected garage door opener to be the most active and frequently used smart home device today - 48% of smart home owners access their smart garage door daily through an app on their phone, followed by smart door locks, network security cameras, and smart thermostats.
"We find the most successful smart home products are those that serve practical use cases on a daily basis. Almost 50% of consumers find access control features, such as those offered by garage door openers, to be appealing, rating 5-7 on a 7-point scale, and 33% find them very appealing, rating 6-7," says Parks Associates analyst Brad Russell.
The conference also features keynotes by executives from Comcast, Cox Communications, Intel, and Vivint Smart Home, as well as new research from Parks Associates. Sessions will provide insight into critical issues including consumer privacy, interoperability, partnerships, platform integration, big data, personalization, and new distribution models.
