CHA Nominating Committee Announces 2012 Slate of Board Candidates
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J., Oct. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Nominating Committee is pleased to announce the 2012 slate of candidates recommended for election by the general CHA membership. The new Board nominees are Nora Abousteit, co-founder of BurdaStyle.com and Kerri Wickersheim, Director of Marketing for the Bernina Sewing Supplies Companies which primarily includes BREWER™, OESD embroidery design products and Benartex Fabrics. Mark Hill, President and CEO of The New Image Group Inc., was also nominated for a second term of Board service. The nominees will each be running for a three-year term on the CHA Board of Directors.
In making the announcement, CHA Nominating Committee Chair, Mark Peters of iLoveToCreate said, "The 2012 slate of nominees boast both impressive personal and professional accomplishments and will undoubtedly provide new and fresh perspectives on Association governance. The Nominating Committee is comprised of three members from the CHA Board of Directors and three members-at-large elected by the general CHA membership. In addition to Mark Peters, Sara Davies (Crafter's Companion) and Richard Brown (Brown Bag Management & Consulting) who served as the Board representatives, the elected members-at-large that contributed to the selection process were Gail Czech (The Creative Network, Inc.), Jane Anne Davis (Blumenthal Lansing Co.) and Jim Scatena (FloraCraft Corporation).
The nominated Board candidates will be officially elected by a proxy ballot which will be mailed to each CHA member company's voting contact by November 29, 2011 as outlined in the Association's bylaws. The confirmation of the Board directors' election will be announced at the CHA Annual Business Meeting which will take place during the 71st Annual Winter Conference & Trade Show in Anaheim, California, January 28 – February 1, 2012.
