CHA Craft SuperShow Section Comes to Utah
CHA Partners with Marketplace Events to Bring CHA Craft SuperShow Section to the Deseret News Fall Home Show in Sandy, Utah
ELMWOOD PARK, N.J., April 13, 2011 The Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) today announced a partnership with a leading consumer show producer, Marketplace Events, to host a CHA Craft SuperShow Section in the Deseret News Fall Home Show to be held at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah October 7- 9, 2011. This agreement will be CHA's first foray into Utah, home to 136 CHA member companies and millions of avid craft enthusiasts.
"By partnering with leading consumer shows like Marketplace Events to host CHA Craft SuperShow Section in the Deseret News Fall Home Show, CHA will help expand awareness of crafts and hobbies to the important Salt Lake City market, which has historically been a hotbed of crafting activity," said Steve Berger, President and CEO, CHA.
While most craft shows focus on one or two craft disciplines, the CHA Craft SuperShow Section educates and inspires crafters on a broad range of crafts. The original Craft SuperShow provided cross-promotional opportunities where knitters tried scrapbooking, scrapbookers tried quilting, and quilters experimented with beading. This year show attendees will be able to participate in craft make-n-take projects and product demonstrations, learn the latest craft techniques, and buy some of the hottest craft products available.
The new CHA Craft SuperShow Section will differ slightly from the original Craft SuperShow in that the Section area is composed of 50 - 100 exhibitors opposed to being a stand-alone event with craft education being offered as in-booth instruction only. Additionally, Marketplace Events will handle all sales, contracts and negotiations regarding exhibit space for their respective venues.
"Marketplace Events is very excited to bring the CHA Craft SuperShow Section to the Deseret News Fall Home Show and we are confident that the CHA Craft SuperShow Section will complement our existing show and provide attendees with a richer, overall experience," explained Tom Baugh, CEO, Marketplace Events.
This CHA partnership completes a series of three agreements with leading consumer show producers to debut four CHA Craft SuperShow Sections as pavilions at successful consumers shows including the TransWorld's Jewelry, Fashion & Accessories Show (JF&A Show) in Rosemont, Illinois July 21- 24, the Deseret News Fall Home Show held at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah October 7- 9, 2011, the Southern Women's Show in Charlotte, North Carolina September 15-18 and in Orlando, Florida from October 13-16, 2011.
