CH2M, District Department of Transportation continue reinvigorating downtown D.C. with H Street Bridge replacement

Originally constructed in 1977, the current structure – often called the Hopscotch Bridge – comprises a 3-block-long stretch of roadway over the Union Station Rail Yard. Reconstruction of this bridge will enable $5 billion of private and public investment, including extension of the DC Streetcar, development of Burnham Place and expansion of Union Station. The collective projects will enhance Union Station as a major transportation hub and captures the value of one of the largest developable properties in the D.C. metropolitan region.

• Preliminary engineering, design-build RFP development and financial and transactional advice.
• Strategic policy and procurement, risk management, economic analysis and life-cycle modeling.

Heavily involved in the D.C. metropolitan region, CH2M provided preliminary engineering and design-build RFP document development for the South Capitol Street Bridge Replacement as part of the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative, and also took on a range of design-build consulting services for the I-495 and I-95 corridors during Virginia Department of Transportation's Northern Virginia Mega Projects. The company is currently providing these services to VDOT for the I-66 corridor, both inside and outside the I-495 Beltway, and around the world on comparable contracts.
