CALGARY, Alberta, Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CH2M was awarded the first phase of the Leadership in Asset Management Program (LAMP), selected by the joint group of 12 municipalities and part-funded by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). The collaborative program brings together twelve leading municipalities from across Canada to develop key asset management building blocks that will better connect sustainability considerations with their infrastructure planning and decision making processes.
LAMP is an innovative peer-learning program designed to enable participating municipalities of all sizes, regions and levels of experience to work together to develop or refresh their asset management strategies and policies while ensuring that their environmental, social and economic sustainability objectives are well integrated with their communities strategic goals.
"This partnership further cements CH2M's position as a leading consultant in the Canadian municipal asset management market. We look forward to leaving our mark within the industry and in assisting our new clients," said Gareth Lifton, CH2M global practice lead for asset management and LAMP program manager.
Asset Management is a way of doing business that enables infrastructure organizations to invest their resources more wisely by continually balancing performance, risk and expenditures in order to meet customer service levels and effectively and efficiently achieve their strategic goals. As part of Phase 1 of the program, CH2M's consulting team will work with the LAMP municipalities to develop and implement asset management approaches in each of the organizations. This will help strengthen their approach to managing infrastructure, which provides community services such as transportation, drinking water and sanitation, and to better integrate their environmental, social and sustainability goals.
The output from the high profile initiative will benefit participating LAMP municipalities and many other cities across Canada, as the FCM looks to share the intelligence and success of the program with other communities. The 12 municipalities that will be leading the way are: City of Edmonton, AB; City of Ottawa; ON; City of Vancouver, BC; City of Windsor, ON; City of Melville, SK; City of Fredericton, NB; City of Airdrie, AB; City of Kings, NS; City of Nanaimo, BC; Municipality of North Grenville, ON; City of Revelstoke, BC; Township of Langley, BC.
