CGS Earns ISO Recertification of Its Medicare Quality Service Programs
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Medicare contractor CGS Administrators has been recertified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in an independent recognition of its commitment to quality management.
The ISO 9001:2008 recertification involves an exhaustive audit of all quality management processes.
An organization must develop and adhere to stringent quality management standards, including controls and mechanisms, to ensure it complies with all regulatory requirements. Companies also must demonstrate an ability to enhance customer satisfaction and ensure continual improvements.
"Achieving ISO recertification reflects the commitment of our company to providing high-quality services to our customers," CGS President Steve Smith said. "We have undergone 11 audits over the years with zero findings. Those results clearly indicate quality and continuous improvement are integral parts of our culture."
CGS has operated as a Medicare contractor since the program began in 1966. CGS currently serves Medicare beneficiaries, health care providers and medical equipment suppliers in 33 states.
ISO (www.ISO.org) is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards. ISO is a network of national standards bodies of 164 countries, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.
