CFP Board Launches New Online Career Center
Provides employers, job seekers valuable tools and resources
WASHINGTON, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) today officially launched an online Career Center that will serve as the destination for those interested in a career as a financial planner, the CFP® certification, and job and internship opportunities.
"CFP Board is in a unique position to make meaningful connections between firms and those who are seeking financial planning positions in the financial services industry. The new Career Center will bridge the gap between those seeking talent and those looking to either enter the profession or further their career," said CFP Board's Chief Executive Officer, Kevin R. Keller. "The CFP® certification is already the standard for financial planning, and likewise we hope this Career Center will become the go-to resource for those looking to join a growing and thriving profession, during college, after graduation and throughout their career."
With an anticipated 27 percent growth in demand for financial planning professionals and a troubling demographic of more advisors over 70 years of age than under 30, advancement of the profession requires an effective means of connecting the job-seeker with firms in need of high-quality talent.
The Career Center will be a one-stop shop for both employers and job seekers. It will contain job and internship listings, and useful career management content for financial advisors, providing helpful information and job opportunities to CFP® professionals and hopefuls at every stage of their career. The Career Center is being launched with Fidelity Institutional as the founding sponsor.
"The talent crisis is an industry burden not to be solved by individual firms," said Jylanne Dunne, senior vice president of practice management, Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services®. "As an industry, we all should get behind fresh resources and approaches like this Career Center in order to make real progress that will benefit the profession for the long term."
More information about the Career Center can be found on the homepage of CFP.net at www.CFP.net/career-center. On the site, interested parties can also submit resumes and inquire about job postings. Follow job postings on Twitter at @CFPcareers.
