NEW YORK, April 3, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) today announced the finalists for its 2019 Beauty Awards on Twitter using the #CEWFinalists hashtag. In its 25th year, the awards continue to celebrate the most groundbreaking new products and remain the industry's highest honor.
Finalists were selected from more than 1,000 entries, representing more than 400 brands, by a vote of CEW members, all of whom are beauty industry professionals. Next, the finalists will be reviewed by CEW's Board of Governors and select industry insiders who will vote to determine the winners in each category.
The winners will be revealed at the CEW Beauty Awards Luncheon on May 17 at the Midtown Hilton in New York.
"As we celebrate CEW's 65th Anniversary year, the Beauty Awards take on special significance," says Carlotta Jacobson, President of CEW. "Because the awards were created to celebrate innovation, they demonstrate how our industry continues to evolve as it strives to meet the needs of beauty consumers."
This year's top trends include the use of charcoal and cannabis as key ingredients, the growth of vegan products in categories ranging from supplements to skincare, and the increase in ingestible products that target beauty from the inside-out.
"These trends illustrate how consumer interest in overall wellness is driving innovation in our industry," Jacobson added, "and it is why we expanded the Beauty Awards program to incorporate wellness categories this year."
