Cesar Millan Answers The Call When Terrorized Communities Blow The Whistle On Unruly Dogs And Owners In Nat Geo WILD's New Series Cesar 911
When Neighbors, Co-workers, Relatives and Friends Cry Foul on a Four-Legged Menace, Cesar Uses His Unmatched Canine Abilities to Restore the Peace
Cesar 911 Premieres Friday, March 7, at 9 PM ET/PT on Nat Geo WILD
WASHINGTON, Jan. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- They bark incessantly. They nip at your fingers and toes. They growl and bare their teeth. They annoy friends and fellow dog walkers. And sometimes they scare the ones you love. When the neighborhood has literally gone to the dogs, someone needs to pick up the phone and dial Cesar 911!
Cesar Millan (@cesarmillan) is back, and this time he's bringing his unmatched canine abilities to communities terrorized by unruly hounds. His new series, Cesar 911, produced by ITV Studios America ("Hell's Kitchen," "Four Weddings") in association with Leepson Bounds Entertainment, premieres Friday, March 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Nat Geo WILD. The series also premieres on Nat Geo Mundo March 7 and internationally on Nat Geo WILD as Cesar to the Rescue in April. For more information, visit www.natgeowild.com and www.cesarsway.com, and follow us on Twitter (@NGC_PR).
Each week, Cesar travels to a new neighborhood in desperate need of his help. He is summoned by co-workers, relatives, friends and neighbors who "blow the whistle" on a four-legged menace that has turned their lives upside down. Cesar witnesses firsthand how the dogs wreak havoc on the community sidewalk, dog parks . . . even restaurants and offices! Whether it's a spoiled Chihuahua going wild in a family business or an aggressive mutt spreading fear throughout the neighborhood, Cesar uses his unparalleled expertise to bring balance to the dogs and the community.
In most instances, the owners unknowingly reinforce their dog's problem behavior. Some treat their dogs like spoiled children, ignoring their bad habits or dismissing them as "not that bad." Others show fear and hesitation when handling their dogs, allowing the dogs to gain the upper hand and "lead" their humans. In one instance, a couple's relationship woes and the resulting anxiety and tension transfer directly to their dog and negatively affect his behavior.
When Cesar arrives in the neighborhood, he quickly evaluates the situation at hand and within moments begins to turn the situation around. He's not a magician. His calm, assertive approach to rehabilitating problem dogs produces rapid results. But in many instances, rehabilitating the dog is not the hard part. Training the humans to be composed, confident pack leaders themselves is the tricky part.
Each episode of Cesar 911 will consist of two stories within one community. Cesar first meets with the whistle-blowers to get briefed on the situation. He then evaluates both the dogs and owners through impromptu visits to the businesses and neighborhood locations where the dogs display their problem behavior. At times, he can provide quick and effective training right on the street. In more serious situations, he must relocate the dogs to his Dog Psychology Center for more in-depth rehabilitation, or invite owners to his new Home Learning Annex to practice and improve upon their leadership skills in a controlled environment.
Cesar uses surveillance cameras after he works with the dogs and owners to track progress and ensure a lasting solution. The final test comes when all parties gather together at a central meeting place within the community; owners equipped with the knowledge and tools only Cesar can provide, and dogs ready to show off the new behaviors they have mastered. The transformations are inspiring, and the positive impacts on the affected communities are extraordinary. Once again, Cesar saves the day as only he can!
Premiere episodes include:
Cesar 911: Family Feud
Premieres Friday, March 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Orange County whistle-blower Debi alerts Cesar to her neighbors, the Dong family, who are scared of their first family dog — a black Lab mix named Misty who has bitten every member of the household. Debi and other neighbors have suggested the Dongs do the unthinkable: put Misty to sleep. Cesar immediately notices that Misty is showing signs of insecurity and, after working with the family, suggests taking Misty to his new Dog Psychology Center to help her build confidence around his pack. Will Misty return home a changed dog for the Dongs? Cesar's next stop takes him to whistle-blower Brad, who is having major trouble with his sister Nicole's Shiba Inu mix, Auggie. Auggie constantly attacks Brad's dog, Kimo, at family outings. Cesar teaches Brad and Nicole about giving dogs boundaries as well as personal space, and points out that their nervous energy leads to aggression in their dogs. But can he arm these siblings with enough skills to end this canine rivalry once and for all?
Cesar 911: Boss with a Bark
Premieres Friday, March 14, at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Whistle-blowers Lori Jo and Patti are fed up with their boss Takis's three unruly bichons frises, collectively named the "Moos," who constantly disrupt business by barking obsessively, knocking over trash cans and even honking the delivery truck's horn! Even Takis's wife, Joanne, has had enough of the unruly Moos, but Takis doesn't see anything wrong with their uncontrollable behavior. Cesar must convince Takis to change his ways so that his beloved dogs will stop terrorizing everyone around them. Cesar then heads to the Freedom Writer's Foundation to meet whistle-blowers Tiffony and Sue Ellen, whose workplace is being disrupted by their boss Ms. G's Labrador retriever, Beau. Though Ms. G's work teaching at-risk youth was featured in a major motion picture, she can't seem to change bad boy Beau's behavior. Cesar concludes that Beau is a dominant dog that feels the need to protect his environment, due to the fact that Ms. G gives the dog too much affection and too little discipline. Cesar works on exercises with Ms. G to help her write a new chapter for her and her Beau.
Cesar 911: Dog Fight
Premieres Friday, March 21, at 9 p.m. ET/PT
In the posh hills above Sherman Oaks, Calif., whistle-blower Josh needs Cesar's help with his neighbors Lilly and Nadav, who have no control over their aggressive boxers, Chip and Mocha. These dogs terrorize their neighborhood and have attacked more than 15 other dogs. Lilly and Nadav quickly assert their fears about Mocha, who they consider to be a "silent killer" and the more dangerous of the pair. Next, Cesar meets with whistle-blower Lorraine, a dance instructor who is greatly concerned for her pregnant business partner Stefanie's fearful and aggressive Chihuahua, Nuts. Cesar observes Nuts in Stefanie's arms, trying to bite every student who signs in. He invites Stefanie and her husband to his home training annex where he teaches them how to create boundaries for Nuts. Will they learn the right moves so they can two-step away with a calmer, happier pet?
