Commercial Identity Verification (CIV) leverages PIV technology to deliver a High Assurance Identity and Access Management credentialing capability to organizations interested in establishing an enterprise-wide trust environment where interoperability with external entities is not needed. PIV and PIV-I are designed and deployed with inter-organizational trust as a primary driver, but until now there has not been an equivalent capability designed for local use. CertiPath has long seen a need to close this credentialing gap and has designed CIV in a Box (CIViaB) specifically for this purpose.
CertiPath has leveraged its decade of credential policy experience to create the first CIV issuance certificate policy to underpin the CIV card, the foundation of its CIViaB product. CIViaBox provides the remedy for organizations that are seeking to converge physical and logical access, implement a single sign-on policy, manage visitor access rights, and eliminate the need of multiple passwords and/or cards per employee. And, because CIV is based on PIV technology, it integrates seamlessly with existing PIV and PIV-I access control systems.
The solution is simple. CIViaBox provides everything an organization needs to start issuing CIV cards. CertiPath manages the security policy, the organization manages the issuance. Application and database server tiers are deployed on-site giving the organization total control over its infrastructure, credential issuance and use. CertiPath has partnered with Intercede to deliver a fully-integrated, ready-to-use identity credentialing solution. The CertiPath certificate authority and MyID identity platforms come preconfigured, with a pre-integrated set of components to make it quick and easy for organizations to get started.
Jeff Nigriny, CEO of CertiPath, characterizes CIV as follows: "We designed CIV to complement and augment existing PIV and PIV-I systems. With this product's launch, we believe the high assurance identity and access control suite is complete. There can be no more excuses for failing to deploy a robust solution in any enterprise."
About CertiPath
CertiPath is the federated trust authority for high-assurance identity and access control to sensitive assets in both physical and online environments. It has defined a common standardized set of policies and practices for establishing, managing and securing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)-based identity credentials that meet the most rigorous standards for identity integrity and trust.
CertiPath's federated trust authority certifies that its individual member organizations adhere to the policies and practices of the trust framework. As a result, these companies can assert the identities of employees globally — on software-based digital certificates or on hardware tokens such as smart cards — to gain logical access to sensitive intellectual property and physical access to secure locations and corporate offices.
