ALTOONA, Pa., Nov. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sheetz, one of America's fastest growing family-owned and operated convenience store chains, cut the ceremonial red ribbon on November 12, 2014 at 11:30 am to officially open the Burlington Distribution Center. Sheetz employees, family, community leaders, dignitaries and Governor Pat McCrory were in attendance for this ceremonial event at 1713 Whites Kennel Road.
The 32.8 million dollar facility will contain a Sheetz Bros kitchen, distribution and warehousing center for the Sheetz distribution fleet. There will also be space for various corporate support departments. Samet Construction constructed the 250,000 square foot distribution center.
The event was kicked-off with welcoming remarks from CEO, Joe Sheetz, Frank Scott, Director of Operations at the Burlington facility, Raymond Ryan, Executive Vice President Distribution Center and Governor Pat McCrory, followed by the official ribbon cutting, lunch reception and tours of the facility.

Ground broke on the 40 acre site last July, training began in October and the first shipment is scheduled to go out on December 9th. This state of the art distribution center will provide a healthy and safe work atmosphere where employees can work and collaborate. The Burlington distribution center will serve Sheetz locations in North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
