Centrify Names CFO; Broadens Depth of Experience for Leader in Securing and Auditing Cross-Platform Systems and Applications
Centrify Appoints Former McAfee and Secure Computing Executive Timothy Steinkopf as CFO to Help Drive Company's Continued Record Growth
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Centrify Corporation, the leading provider of security and compliance solutions that centrally control, secure and audit access to cross-platform systems and applications using Active Directory, today announced that it has named former McAfee and Secure Computing Corporation executive Timothy Steinkopf as its Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Steinkopf will be responsible for all aspects of corporate finance as Centrify expands its leading product portfolio, channel operations, and presence in domestic and international markets.
Mr. Steinkopf brings more than a dozen years of experience as a CFO at both public and private companies to Centrify, including successful stints at publicly held company Secure Computing Corporation (acquired by McAfee) and privately held companies SumTotal Systems and Purfresh. Mr. Steinkopf will manage the financial and administrative functions of Centrify as it grows its product offerings and global reach.
"Tim has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to lead successful growing companies from the finance side, and we will rely on his knowledge and expertise as our business continues to accelerate," said Centrify President and CEO Tom Kemp. "We are proud to have reached the stage in Centrify's development where we need the types of skills and background that Tim brings to us, and we are pleased to welcome him aboard."
"Centrify is poised for continued growth given enterprises' continued deployment of heterogeneous platforms — both on-premise and in the cloud — and the need to secure and audit access to these different platforms," said Mr. Steinkopf. "I am excited to join the company, and it's a great fit with my previous experience of helping executive teams deliver great financial results during high growth. Centrify offers great promise given that it participates in a large and fast-growing market, has differentiated solution offerings that reduce operational costs for our customers, and has a team with a proven track record for execution and excellence."
Prior to Purfresh, Mr. Steinkopf served as CFO for SumTotal Systems. Before this position, he was CFO of the network security business unit for McAfee. He came to that transitional role following McAfee's successful acquisition of Secure Computing Corporation, where he held numerous executive-level positions over an 8-year period, including senior vice president of operations and CFO. Previously Mr. Steinkopf served as CFO and vice president of Finance for Silicon Entertainment, Inc. He has also held executive and management positions with Watt/Peterson, Inc., and Ernst & Young. Mr. Steinkopf earned a B.S. degree and majors in both Accounting and Computer Science from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota.
