NEW YORK, Aug. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Centrax Gas Turbines, a manufacturer of gas turbine generator sets, has selected Infor Dynamic Enterprise Performance Management (Infor d/EPM). The application, which will be deployed at the manufacturer's headquarters, in Devon, is expected to deliver enhanced insight to improve visibility, make forecasting simpler, and boost decision-making.
Centrax Gas Turbines is a specialist manufacturer of complex custom built gas turbine powered generator sets, which range from 3 MW to 15 MW, and are used mainly for Combined Heat and Power (CHP), as well as standby and grid stability applications. Innovation is at the heart of Centrax's business, and in the wake of business growth and structural change, it needed to reduce reliance on spreadsheets, and invest in consolidation and performance management capabilities.
Having used Infor ERP software for many years, Centrax selected Infor d/EPM based on its flexibility, and ability to integrate with other applications to deliver robust insights. Once live, Centrax anticipates deeper and more meaningful insights via real-time data, amalgamation of data from different sources and a flexible, automated forecasting tool which can be used more widely amongst the executive team.
"Prior to selecting Infor d/EPM, we were using spreadsheets to create management accounts which were printed and sent out to senior managers across the business," comments Angus Boyd, Systems Accountant, Centrax Gas Turbines. "As we embarked upon structural change and expansion, it became apparent that this way of working simply wasn't efficient. Using Infor d/EPM, all of our decision-makers have access to real-time insights which they can utilize for better planning, driving down costs while keeping resources focused on strategy development rather than data extrapolation."
"In order to keep innovating, manufacturers need to invest in technology which can help drive this innovation while keeping their cost base in check," comments Phil Lewis, Vice President, Solution Consulting, Infor. "Through adopting automated, accurate BI and forecasting, resources can be deployed appropriately and remain fully focused on developing, manufacturing and servicing products, which will in turn, drive competitiveness in a challenging market."
