CentraState Healthcare System Selects MobileMD for Health Information Exchange; Introduces EMR Light to Healthcare Community
FREEHOLD, N.J., Jan. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CentraState Healthcare System announced today an agreement with MobileMD, Inc., Warminster, Pa., to provide state-of-the-art health information exchange (HIE) services to its physicians and offices, nursing homes, imaging centers, laboratories, and other clinicians within its broad medical community.
The agreement provides for MobileMD to deploy its 4D HIE™, which is comprised of MobileMD's flagship products, 4DX Intelligence Engine Network and 4DX Enterprise Access, both offered to improve critical care information flow and facilitate Meaningful Use across CentraState's provider network. MobileMD will handle the set-up, configuration, maintenance and support of the HIE technologies.
"We sought a health information exchange provider capable of connecting multiple platforms into one system," said Neal Ganguly, CHCIO, FHIMSS, Vice President and CIO, CentraState Healthcare System. "MobileMD's EMR Light offering was the right complement to our electronic medical records (EMR) strategy as it enables physicians in our community the ability to automate their processes and become Meaningful Use-certified without having to make a significant investment of time and money in a larger, more advanced EMR system," Ganguly said.
MobileMD 4D HIE™ provides secure clinical and administrative data exchange between all providers caring for patients within a community, regardless of location, EMR technology or vendor. Once integration is complete, CentraState anticipates its entire provider network of physicians, physician extenders, nurses, labs, imaging centers, and other providers to be fully connected and interoperable.
Moreover, patient health information will be integrated into EMRs currently used by physician practices and for physician practices that have not yet implemented EMR technology. MobileMD will provide an easy-to-use, web-enabled, highly secure, Meaningful Use-certified EMR-light designed to facilitate the communication of and access to PHI, regardless of location or system of PHI origination.
"CentraState's plans include the introduction of MobileMD's HIE to its entire IDN system," MobileMD's Chief Executive Officer Todd Fisher said. "Our goal is to provide real-time, secure and accessible medical information to CentraState's hospital, facilities and physicians while providing the highest level of service in the industry. And, with MobileMD, clinicians can effectively and expediently provide relevant clinical data at the point of care," commented Fisher.
