Central Scholarship Names Vitamin Agency of Record
BALTIMORE, Feb. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Vitamin today announced its selection by Central Scholarship for a rebranding initiative that will set the foundation for the organizations' 90th anniversary in 2014. As agency of record, Vitamin is handling the development of new brand messaging, including mission statement, value proposition and tagline, as well as design of Central Scholarship's new logo, identity collateral, web site and blog. Vitamin is also handling press writing and media relations support for the organization.
Central Scholarship is a Baltimore non-profit that enables students to pursue undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees, as well as vocational training through grants and interest-free loans. Founded in 1924, Central Scholarship has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to students seeking education beyond high school. Community partners who have worked in conjunction with Central Scholarship to support its mission include the CollegeBound Foundation, Job Opportunities Task Force, and the Urban Teacher Center.
"Central Scholarship has been in the community for nearly a century, but we haven't always been visible as an organization – our goal is to significantly increase our awareness through this rebranding," said Jan Wagner, executive director of Central Scholarship. "In our search for an agency partner, we were confident in Vitamin's ability to take us through the process of establishing a new brand that has purpose and meaning for our key audiences, namely students and funders. We are really looking forward to rolling out the new brand – it promises to give Central Scholarship a more vibrant look and to help set us apart from the pack."
The addition of Central Scholarship to Vitamin's portfolio complements the firm's non-profit client roster, including: American Diabetes Association, American Council of Engineering Companies, Baltimore Development Corporation, Saint Agnes Hospital, and the Society for Marketing Professional Services.
"In a day and age where tuition costs continue to climb, and the job market only gets tougher, people are finding it more difficult to pay for education beyond high school. Central Scholarship helps fill those financial needs – and their assistance is needed now, more than ever," said Amanda Karfakis, president and CEO of Vitamin. "Vitamin is honored to partner in this branding and communications push with Central Scholarship, whose value is clear in terms of enabling underserved, yet talented individuals to reach their potential through higher education."
