Dr. Sarah Azer Elias, Au.D., begins seeing patients at the center's Highland Park and Manalapan offices on June 13.
"Dr. Elias has a very strong reputation and we thought she would be an excellent addition to the practice," said Dr. Eric Sandler, Sc.D., audiologist with The Hearing Center. "She is very personable, works very well with other professionals, and her patients are very comfortable with her."
Elias received her doctorate of audiology from the Long Island Doctor of Audiology Consortium program in May 2016. She recently completed her fourth-year residency at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack, where she "gained as much experience as possible" treating children and sharing results with parents or guardians.
"I love that you need to be creative when working with children," Elias said. "I like that I have to think out of the box to get reliable responses. Kids are little balls of energy and I thrive while working with that energy."
Elias said that she is eager to join a "diverse practice" which serves "multiple populations, from kids to adults."
"I'm looking forward to working with everyone… including Dr. Anne Michele Puglisi -- her aural rehabilitation class is fascinating," Elias said. "Dr. Sandler is in the know and is constantly trying to offer more at The Hearing Center. I am very excited to work in that environment."
"We've always worked with pediatrics, and Dr. Elias will allow us to expand our pediatric practice at The Hearing Center," Sandler added. "As a professional who works with children and their parents… Dr. Elias has the ability to connect with them and can make them feel comfortable in a situation where they might be overwhelmed or intimidated."
Sandler said that hiring Elias is a testament to The Hearing Center's history of growth, exhibited over the center's 30 years of commitment to patient results and improvement.
"We have seen trends in hearing healthcare come and go -- we understand best practices to diagnose and treat hearing loss and to fit hearing aids," Sandler said. "In recent years… we expanded and updated our offices, aesthetically and to computer-based diagnostics; we added audiological services; and we grew provider and support staff."
Visit the center's website to book an appointment with Elias or to book an appointment with any of the audiology experts at the Highland Park, Manalapan, or Clark offices.
