NEWTOWN, Pa., May 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CenTrak, the leader in healthcare Enterprise Location Services™, announced today that it has established CenTrak Cares™, a charitable program developed to give back to the communities the company serves. The program's first major initiative is called "Locating a Cure for Cancer," and focuses on improving the patient experience in cancer centers through the use of Enterprise Location Services and other visibility technologies.
As part of the initiative, CenTrak will provide financial assistance to cancer charities, special pricing for select cancer construction projects and award an annual grant to the cancer care facility implementing the most unique application of CenTrak technology.
For 2017, CenTrak has chosen to partner with No Stomach For Cancer, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to support research and unite the caring power of people affected by stomach cancer worldwide. Gastric cancer is the 3rd leading cause of cancer deaths globally, with over 1 million cases diagnosed each year. Early diagnosis through education and prevention is the key to survival. CenTrak will be a premier sponsor for No Stomach For Cancer's upcoming Spotlight on Gastric Cancer to be held May 12 at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, in Seattle, WA. This event is free, and open to the public.
Vidant Medical Center in Greensville, N.C is the first healthcare organization to collaborate with CenTrak as part of CenTrak Cares. Vidant is in the process of building a 6 story, 96 bed cancer center. The 418,000 square foot facility will further Vidant's vision to prevent the incidence of cancer whenever possible, diagnose the disease in its earliest stages, and take steps to ensure that patients in eastern North Carolina have access to world-class care, close to home. As part of initiative, Vidant and CenTrak are collaborating on innovative ways that Location Services can be used to improve the cancer patient experience. "Vidant Medical Center is pleased to have a partnership with CenTrak. Both organizations share a curiosity for learning and innovation which allows us to advance the experiences and care provided to patients with cancer. Our goal is to complement the new cancer center with innovative technologies that support the needs of the patients and families we serve," said Brian Floyd, Vidant Medical Center President.
