Based at Tropicana Field, home of Major League Baseball's Tampa Bay Rays, Tracy will have responsibility for Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers; McKechnie Field, spring training home of Major League Baseball's Pittsburgh Pirates; the University of South Florida's Sun Dome; Joker Marchant Stadium, spring training home of Major League Baseball's Detroit Tigers; and the Florida State Fairgrounds.
"Bill is a great addition to our line-up in the region," said Sal Ferrulo, Senior Vice President of East Coast Sports Operations. "He comes with strong operational experience and a natural sense of the industry to motivate our in-stadium teams, drive fan satisfaction, and generate overall returns for clients."
Tracy's industry credentials include high-profile events at many of the country's best-known venues. Prior to assuming his role at Centerplate, Tracy oversaw hospitality operations and premium services at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, home of the NFL's Jets and Giants, and Shea Stadium, former home of the New York Mets; he also served as General Manager of food and beverage services at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. and PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. His major event experience includes the openings of Citi Field in New York and Citizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia—two of Major League Baseball's recent high-profile stadium openings—as well as the World Series, Breeders' Cup, and Kentucky Derby.
Tracy joins Centerplate at a key time for the company and its clients. Centerplate has had a strong year for new business and is on track to meet or exceed records for contract renewals. Tracy's first day at his new home office was spent with a capacity crowd at Tropicana Field for the Tampa Bay Rays, whose strong season performance has clinched a spot in post-season play.
