Centerplate Presents Menus With A Kick For Portland Timbers 2013 Season
PORTLAND, Ore., March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the nation's largest event hospitality partner to North America's premier convention centers, sports stadiums and entertainment venues, is ready to kick off the Portland Timbers 2013 season at JELD-WEN Field by announcing this season's new signature menu item. The savory signature "Timber Pie" will be made in partnership with Pacific Coast Pie Co., a local bakery, using only locally produced cheese, butter, and vegetables, grass fed-beef, free-range chicken, and pasture raised lamb. Hand pies are a very popular soccer match food in Europe and Australia. Centerplate sought to ensure the pies were made from local ingredients that Portlanders could really stand behind. Other pies include Spinach & Feta, and Chicken, Cheddar & Broccoli made fresh in house.
"We are proud to be a Portland Timbers partner and to deliver fans an exceptional experience," said Ben Forsythe, Centerplate's General Manager responsible for the field. "In keeping with our commitment to highlight the community's best products, we will be offering a variety of locally sourced foods that fans might not generally associate with sporting experiences, including our signature pies."
Another new item from Centerplate is also as innovative as it is delicious: Bacon Bleu Tots. These tater tots are served with chipotle ranch, crumbled bleu cheese, chopped bacon, scallions, and diced tomato. For the full Timbers experience, fans can pair the tots with a Cheesesteak Panini, served on a soft pretzel roll from local bakery, Franz, with horseradish cream dipping sauce.
In addition to the two new signature items, Centerplate is also proud to announce an exciting partnership with Portland's own Olympic Provisions. Fans looking for a gourmet game-day experience can order a locally sourced charcuterie plate that contains Olympic Provisions' award winning Loukanika, Saucisson D'Arles, and Honey Hazelnut Pate with crackers, house made marmalade, and whole grain mustard. The highly lauded charcuterie will be made available in all the quick-serve stands for the Timber's games this season.
