Centerplate Partners With Detroit Branch NAACP for 57th Annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner

DETROIT, May 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its commitment to community partnership and empowerment, Centerplate, the leading hospitality partner to North America's premier sports stadiums, entertainment venues and convention centers is honored to be the hospitality host at Detroit's Cobo Center for the Detroit Branch NAACP 57th Annual Fight for Freedom Fund.

The Detroit Branch NAACP will host thousands of guests, treating them to an outstanding meal, world-class entertainment, and some of the world's most renowned speakers including Keynote Speaker Eric Holder, U.S. Attorney General. 

Centerplate's planning and preparation for a dinner of this magnitude started nearly a year ago, immediately after last year's Freedom Fund dinner. This year, Centerplate will be serving char-grilled chicken breast with dried cherry jam, herb roasted redskin potatoes; sunshine blend bean medley and local Michigan-favorite Sanders bumpy cake with berry coulis sauce for dessert. To prepare and serve the thousands of plated dinners, Centerplate has bolstered its Cobo Center team with more than 400 culinary and service professionals who will facilitate all facets of its hospitality delivery for the dinner.

Centerplate Executive Chef Jamie Miller will be conducting demonstrations on the preparation, storage, preservation and health benefits of food products found at the market.
