Centerplate Hosting Nation's Home Builders at Orange County Convention Center

STAMFORD, Conn., Jan. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Centerplate, the nation's largest hospitality partner to North America's premier convention centers, sports stadiums and entertainment venues will welcome over 55,000 attendees for the 2011 International Builder's Show at the Orange County Convention Center. The huge show features exhibits covering over 1 million square feet of exhibit space and even several full-scale homes erected adjacent to the center.

To serve these important guests, Centerplate has developed a number of menu concepts specifically tailored to the meeting and has added numerous supplementary points-of-service to ensure visitors will be served a wide variety of flavorful meals without sacrificing service speed.  

Some of the company's chef-crafted dishes created for the show include:  

• Souvlaki: skewer of marinated charbroiled boneless chicken, stacked on warm pita bread, topped off with lettuce, banana peppers, & tzatziki sauce

• Orecchiette Pasta: fresh saffron orecchiette pasta with marinated shrimp and roasted peppers topped off with a creamy basil sauce

• Chocolate Decadent Crepe: Brownie Chunks mixed with Nutella and topped with Whipped Cream

In addition to its quick service offerings, Centerplate will also be catering over 725 private events throughout the show.

This year, to complement its culinary offerings, Centerplate has also initiated a series of enhancements to its service training and experience assurance initiatives. Centerplate's training program, which has been completely revamped and launched as Centerplate University for this year, is based on a series of training sessions that provides our service team the foundation to succeed. In addition to functional training, the program includes a significant focus on food safety, responsible service of alcohol, and the principles and behaviors of gracious guest service for a better guest experience.
