Center Forward releases study on impact of the Affordable Care Act on insurance premiums, continues to foster bipartisan discussion of critical issues facing the country

Participating in a bipartisan panel at the National Press Club to discuss the study's findings were Doug Holtz-Eakin, President of the American Action Forum, former North Dakota Democratic Congressman Earl Pomeroy and Jim O'Connor of Milliman, Inc. Panelists discussed the study's findings with regard to the five aspects of the ACA that are anticipated to have a potentially significant impact on current premiums, including:
- Minimum benefit coverage
- Minimum and specified levels of member cost-sharing, or metallic tiers
- Premium rating restrictions regarding gender, variation by age, and health status
- Guaranteed issue requirements without pre-existing condition limitations in the individual market
- Federal premium subsidies for low-income individuals
