Center for Creative Leadership Names David Altman Vice President & Managing Director CCL EMEA
BRUSSELS, January 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Anticipating increasing growth in Europe, Middle East and Africa, the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL ®) named David G. Altman, Ph.D., Vice President and Managing Director of CCL EMEA. Altman has a strong background in leadership development and has served on CCL's Executive Team for the past nine years. Prior to his appointment as VP and MD of EMEA, he served as Executive Vice President of CCL's global Research, Innovation and Product Development group at the global headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA.
The Center for Creative Leadership is a top-ranked, global provider of executive education. Headquartered in Greensboro, N.C. and supported by 600 faculty members and staff, its EMEA arm provides cutting-edge leadership development and research throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including its offices in Addis Ababa, Johannesburg and Moscow.
Dr. Altman is executive sponsor of CCL's Leadership Beyond Boundaries work and a faculty member for the Leadership at the Peak program and Assessment Certification workshop. He also designs and delivers customized programs to a variety of global clients.
Prior to joining CCL, Altman served as Professor of Public Health Sciences and of Pediatrics at The Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and as Senior Research Scientist at the Stanford University Center for Research in Disease Prevention in Palo Alto, California. From 1997-2000, he participated in the prestigious W.K. Kellogg Foundation National Leadership Program as one of 40 Americans selected. He has been involved in securing over USD 200 million in research-related grants and contracts..
"Dave Altman's diverse background and in-depth experience with all aspects of leadership development will serve as an excellent foundation for further building the CCL brand in the region," says CCL President and CEO John Ryan. "His commitment to future thinking about how to balance complex global challenges with country-specific needs are of particular interest to the EMEA market."
"With a long history in Europe and Asia, CCL is able to offer a truly global approach to innovative leadership development," Altman says.
A key issue on Altman's immediate agenda is the looming talent gap. "None of our clients think they have enough bench strength," says Altman. "To address this concern, CCL has created a robust talent development solution for investing in leadership across all levels of an organization."
This follows a general trend away from strategic consulting and towards what Altman refers to as leadership solutions. "If you don't foster a leadership culture at all levels of an organization, you will not have success," says Altman.
