Centenary College Hosts 70 Foreign Students in Fulbright Gateway Orientation Program
Centenary College helps students gain understanding of American culture and academics as one of nine host sites nationwide.
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J., July 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- From August 4, 2014, to August 8, 2014, Centenary College will host a Fulbright Gateway Orientation for 70 newly arrived Fulbright Foreign Students. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), the Fulbright Gateway Orientation Program is made available to Fulbright Foreign Students as part of its flagship Fulbright Program (http://eca.state.gov/fulbright), and is designed by the Institute of International Education (IIE) in cooperation with ECA. The Fulbright Gateway Orientations are intended to address participants' roles and responsibilities as Fulbrighters and to enhance their skills for academic, personal and professional success while in the United States. This is the third year that Centenary College has served as a host site.

The Fulbright Gateway Orientation, held primarily at Centenary College, will feature interactive workshops on topics such as handling culture shock and understanding U.S. academic culture and political life. Through these events, participating students will develop a better awareness of the United States and their leadership role as Fulbrighters.
Centenary College's Fulbright Gateway Orientation is one of nine hosts across the United States by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs as part of its flagship Fulbright Program. These orientations, an integral part of the Fulbright experience, benefit arriving Fulbright Foreign Students and support the mission of the Fulbright Program – to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.
