Centec and HFR Jointly Announced New MEF CE2.0 Certified NID Solution
SUZHOU, China, June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Centec Networks, a leading innovator of SDN switching silicon and whitebox solutions, and HFR, a leading vendor of wired/wireless network equipments, jointly announced a new 10GbE carrier NID (Network Interface Device) solution, which achieved MEF CE2.0 certification on April 30th, the "industry's highest level of certification."
The newly released 10GbE NID solution, HFR HA 800 series, is targeted at the highly growing carrier Ethernet access market with strong demand for SLA and service management and performance monitoring. This NID solution is built on Centec's Avalon NID reference design, a productized platform with up to 24Gbps bandwidth and comprehensive carrier Ethernet protocol stack. Leveraging Centec's latest 3rd generation high feature high performance switching silicon, Avalon is purposely built to create and deliver scalable and robust carrier Ethernet services on a low cost compact platform with ultra-low power consumption.
The portfolio HA 800 series covers wide form factor from 4x1GE edge access to 24x10GE mid-range aggregation. Highlight features as follows:
- Complete OAM solution for both ETH-OAM and MPLS-TP OAM with advanced management tools including LM, DM and throughput test (RFC2544/Y.1564 compliant).
- Advanced protection switching technology including MSRP for MPLS-TP ring protection.
- Integrated timing synchronization solution with IEEE 1588v2+Sync Ethernet.
"Demand for higher access bandwidth with more refined SLA requirement is driving the carrier NID market for a more competitive solution," said Tao Gu, VP of business development of Centec Networks. "Avalon is a perfect solution for optimized performance, cost and power enabled with Centec switching silicon built around service-aware architecture. We are glad to have HFR as a partner to deliver actual products based on Avalon. Centec is now engaging in a bravura for the SDN&NFV innovation on Avalon to enable future-prove SDN&NFV capability on Avalon."
"Carrier Ethernet is one of HFR's key focuses, especially on the access domain," said Peter Kwangho Cho, VP of business development of HFR. "The newly released 10GE carrier NID - HA800 series will not only provide a bandwidth benefit for service provider but also inspires high quality service connection as an intelligent demarcation point. Centec Avalon RD platform greatly fastens the process of HA 800 series production as a solid prototype. We're also building the product road map together with Centec to add more innovations on current platforms such as SDN&NFV. We already have very encouraging feedbacks from customers and we believe the HA800 series will bring the best user experience ever in the carrier access domain."
