LEXINGTON, S.C., March 13, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Employees of Centaurus Financial were out in force last weekend for the construction of a new trail in Harbison State Forest in Columbia, South Carolina. On hand was registered representative Matt Hawkins, who frequently cycles in the park.
This short, 1-mile long trail was created to allow both beginners and experienced hikers the opportunity to explore more of the park's lush greenery. The project offers schoolteachers and instructors and the children they teach to enjoy more of South Carolina's natural beauty.
Founded in the 1950s by the South Carolina Forestry Commission, Harbison State Forest is located along the Broad River and encompasses more than 2,200 acres of lush woodland, a stark contrast from the urban landscape just down the road. Harbison State Forest is managed by the Forestry Commission as the largest urban public green space in the Southeast.
Friends of Harbison State Forest is a nonprofit organization made up of nature lovers, runners, bikers, hikers, and adventurers with the sole purpose of preserving and promoting the recreational and educational aspects of the urban forest.
You can donate online to help Friends of Harbison Forest in their efforts.
