Celestial Navigation 101: Navigating the Seas Made Easy

Dominique Prinet is a former Airline Transport pilot who flew single and twin engine planes in the Arctic and High Arctic for many years. He holds a BASc from UBC and an MBA from McGill. In Montreal, he taught Economics to MBA students at McGill while VP at Nordair; later, in Vancouver, he became VP of Canadian Airlines. His final airline job was to manage Air Tanzania for five years.

Dominique has sailed on the Indian Ocean out of Dar es Salaam, navigated the Mediterranean and the English Channel, and sailed extensively along the Pacific Northwest. He is a Power and Sail Instructor, certified for all levels by Sail Canada and the International Sail and Power Academy (ISPA). He is an Instructor-Evaluator for Sail Canada, has taught boating out of Vancouver since 2000, and has delivered Transport Canada courses to professional mariners.

His lifelong passion is teaching. He lives in Vancouver with his wife, a former teacher of French at UBC.
