SANTA CLARITA, Calif., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Some of Hollywood's youngest and most recognized stars will join with legends from the world of sports to support The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project's 10th Anniversary celebration this Thursday during a fundraiser open to the public at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown will join celebrities such as Eva LaRue (CSI: Miami), Alyson Stoner (Camp Rock 1 & 2, Step Up 3D), the School Gyrls (Mandy Rain, Jacque Rae Pyles, and Monica Parales), Allisyn Ashley Arm (Sonny With a Chance), Alex Kapp Horner (The New Adventures of Old Christine) and many others. Supporters of this unique and special event on May 20th will have privileged and private access to many of the park's famed rides and roller coasters from 6 to 10 pm when Magic Mountain is open ONLY to SCV Youth Project guests. Tickets can be purchased at www.helpnothassle.com and supporters MUST USE the promotions code SCVYOUTH.
"We could not be more excited or grateful that so many celebrities are taking time out of their busy schedules to be with us as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary," said Kim Goldman, Executive Director of the Youth Project. "On May 20th, our guests will have a fantastic opportunity to ride some of the best rides in the park and meet some extraordinary and talented stars from the entertainment and sports worlds. It's especially important to us that Hollywood's young stars are turning out to show their support for the critical work we do everyday."
Other stars scheduled to attend include Billy Unger (National Treasure Book of Secrets and the upcoming feature You Again), Colin Ford (the television series Supernatural, as well as upcoming features Push, and Ticket Out), Taylor Dooley (Shark Boy & Lava Girl), Meaghan Jette Martin ("Tess" in Camp Rock 1 & 2), Sascha Pieterse (Shark Boy & Lava Girl) and Ryan Newman (Zeke & Luther).
Said Los Angeles Kings Captain Dustin Brown: "As a professional athlete, I realize how lucky I am and my children will be as they grow up. I had the opportunity to represent my country this winter when I played for the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team, and I believe that fulfilling that responsibility means representing the entire country - the rich and the poor; the fortunate and the less fortunate. By getting behind The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project on this its 10th Anniversary, I want to reach out and help those teenagers who have not been as lucky during their lives. I realize the great work and efforts that the Project makes, and I want to draw attention to that and commend them on a continuing job well done."
At this special gala, guests will enjoy a fully catered dinner from 6 to 7 PM, free parking, and exclusive access to the park for the gala festivities. Tickets are on sale now at $40 per adult and $25 per ticket for kids 17 and under.
The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project is a non-profit agency dedicated to working with teens 12 - 18, providing free peer mentoring, support groups, outreach, crisis intervention, and education, at all the junior high and high school campuses in the Santa Clarita Valley area. During the last 10 years, the SCV Youth Project has provided assistance to more than 27,000 area teens and pre-teens and 5,000 adults.
"We are incredibly proud of our growth over the past 10 years and the range of programs and services we provide teens on school campuses practically every day," added Goldman.
Tickets to the event can be used all day at the park. But the real fun begins promptly at 6 PM, when Magic Mountain closes for the day to general customers and the party begins exclusively for Youth Project guests and benefactors.
If you have any questions about the celebration, please contact the Youth Project at 661-957-YOUTH or email Kim Goldman at [email protected].
