Daniel and her sister, who co-starred on the hit teen drama series "Sweet Valley High," and Cole Hauser, who stars in the upcoming drama series "Yellowstone" alongside Kevin Costner, greeted and cheered on the riders as they arrived in Salt Lake City after completing their segment.
A total of 93 Bristol-Myers Squibb employees on seven teams, all novice riders, will bike a total of nearly 2,800 miles during the 21-day mission to raise funds and awareness for SU2C, which brings together collaborative teams of researchers to help get new therapies to patients faster and save lives now.
The ride kicked off on Sept. 6 on the Oregon Coast, and the teams of riders will continue journey across the U.S. through Sept. 26, when they arrive at the Jersey Shore.
Bristol-Myers Squibb will match funds raised during the 2017 Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer Ride dollar-for-dollar up to a total of $500,000. This is the fourth Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer Ride benefiting Stand Up To Cancer. Last year's Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer Ride raised over $1 million for SU2C's collaborative cancer research programs. Bristol-Myers Squibb will continue to match donations through Oct. 15, 2017. To donate, go to www.cancerbikeride.org.
"It meant so much to be there with my family to cheer on these amazing riders. I was so inspired and humbled by the strength, passion and love of all the riders I met and spoke with. Being a cancer survivor I'm especially grateful for SU2C, Bristol-Myers Squibb and these dedicated riders for raising money for cancer research that's helping to save lives now," said Brittany Daniel.
"Monday was a special day for my sister Brittany, Cole and me, especially because I felt like we were the three amigos who battled and beat cancer with Brittany. We loved sharing our strength, compassion, and dedication with the Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer riders. It was an inspirational day with lots of loving and support pouring through everyone," said Cynthia Hauser.
