Celebrating Two Years of Great Quality Care for Children in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb!
DETROIT, March 25, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Wayne-Oakland -Macomb Resource Center of United Way for Southeastern Michigan thanks and congratulates the 196 child care providers In Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County who are celebrating their second anniversary of participation in the Great Start to Quality rating system. They have demonstrated their ongoing commitment to the children and families in our region.
Great Start to Quality rates child care and preschool providers and helps them to improve their programs. The goal is to make sure every young child in Michigan has the best possible learning experience and that every parent has assistance in selecting the best program for his or her child. Programs and providers are awarded between one and five stars based on the number of state standards they meet, with five stars indicating the highest quality programs and providers. Presently there are 609 providers in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County participating in Great Start to Quality. Of those providers, 474 have a rating of 3, 4 or 5 stars.
Providers who are approaching their second anniversary in the program will receive a notification from Great Start to Quality reminding them that it is time to begin the rerating process. Reminders will be sent out 160, 90 and 30 days prior to the provider's anniversary date.
