Celebrating 120 Years, OC Fair Offers Discounts & Promotions
COSTA MESA, Calif., June 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This year's OC Fair's theme is "The Beat Goes On," honoring the 120th year of the OC Fair. The OC Fair carries on the tradition of affordable fun offering great entertainment at family-friendly prices. The 2010 OC Fair is Friday, July 16 - Sunday, August 15 (open Wednesday-Sunday). Additionally, the Heroes Get in Free promotion offers free admission to all active military each day of the Fair.
The savings begin on opening day (Friday, July 16) with free admission and parking for the first hour of the Fair from Noon - 1 p.m. Parking lots open one hour before gates. In the Pacific Amphitheatre, a limited amount of terrace seating for The Pink Floyd Experience will be free with Fair admission for the opening night concert.
The OC Fair Super Pass returns with daily access to the Fair for all 23 days and express-lane entry for all gates, as well as many other benefits including 20 percent off reserved seating at the Action Sports Arena and The Hangar, and 2-for-1 offers for select Pacific Amphitheatre concerts. The Super Pass is only $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for children (discount price valid through July 15; prices increase by $5 after this date). Another great option for those that can't make it every day, the OC Fair will pick up the service fees when you purchase OC Fair single-day admission tickets through Ticketmaster using the TicketFast (print-at-home) option.
The OC Fair will also be hosting "We Care Wednesdays," devoting each Wednesday to different charitable causes. All donors will receive one free Fair admission ticket and one carnival ride:
- Wednesday, July 21 – Food Drive, Noon – 6 p.m.: Donation of five canned food items accepted. Benefits Second Harvest Food Bank and OC Food Bank.
- Wednesday, July 28 – Book Drive, Noon – 6 p.m.: Donation of one new or three gently used children's books accepted. Benefits Orange County public elementary schools through Los Angeles Times' Reading by 9 and Book Ends.
- Wednesday, August 4 – Clothing Drive (New for 2010), Noon – 6 p.m.: Donation of 5 new or gently used clothing items accepted. Benefits Goodwill of Orange County.
- Wednesday, August 11 – School Supply Drive, Noon – 6 p.m.: Donation of one new school supply item valued at $3 or more (suggested items: markers, notebooks, backpacks, and calculators) accepted. Benefits Share Our Selves.
Every Thursday, children 12 years and younger receive free admission, and every Friday, guests 60 years and older receive discounted $5 admission in addition to free Ferris wheel and merry-go-round rides. The carnival also offers discounts with a $25 all-you-can-ride wristband and $1 games on Wednesday and Thursday and on Friday, enjoy $1 rides and $1 games until 7 p.m. Fairgoers can purchase a Fast Pass, which offers front-of-the-line access for all carnival rides for the price of $20 for that day. What is a Fair without food? All food vendors will offer $1 Food Tastings on Fridays from Noon-4 p.m.
On the weekends, Fairgoers can score free parking and shuttle service at the Experian parking lot located off the Bristol Street exit of the 405 freeway.
The 2010 OC Fair, themed The Beat Goes On, runs July 16 – August 15 and will bring 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music and fun, as well as the popular Super Pass, Pacific Amphitheatre Summer Concert Series, Action Sports Arena and new-for-2010, The Hangar. The Fair is open Wednesday-Sunday.
