Celebrate September As 'Dining Out Month'
AARP Members Invited to Take Advantage of Available Discounts on Everyday Meals
WASHINGTON, Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- From exquisite fine dining options to casual dining experiences, AARP members have access to a variety of everyday discounts that can help reduce the cost of daily meals. To demonstrate the value offered to AARP members, September is being celebrated as "Dining Out Month" to invite AARP members to explore and use the valuable offers included with their membership.
"We know AARP members enjoy the travel offers they receive, but often times they don't realize how much they could be saving on everyday meals," said Dave Austin, vice president, marketing services at AARP Services, Inc. "Whether they are looking for celebratory dinners or casual breakfasts, we encourage AARP members to take advantage of these valuable benefits this fall so they can get more out of their membership and help maximize their savings potential."
"Using existing dining discounts on a road trip this fall is an example of one easy way to reduce costs," Austin added.
Among the 45 and over, 87 percent say they take about three road trips per year and 72 percent say road trips are their favorite way to travel, according to AARP research[1].
AARP members can save on a variety of fine dining experiences, including 10 percent off every day at McCormick & Schmick's, Claim Jumper, Chart House, Landry's Seafood and The Oceanaire restaurants. Casual dining offers include 15 percent off every day at Denny's and Outback Steakhouse restaurants nationwide; 15 percent off at participating Bonefish Grill and Carrabba's locations; 10 percent off at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Rainforest Cafe restaurants; and 25 percent off regular menu price items at Papa John's, among others. AARP members can even get a free donut with the purchase of any large or extra-large beverage at any Dunkin' Donuts location.
This month, sweetFrog is launching an offer exclusively for AARP members on its frozen treats. AARP members who visit sweetFrog locations in the U.S. will receive 15 percent off soft-serve premium frozen yogurt, merchandise and gift cards by simply showing their AARP card at the register.
AARP Member Advantages is a collection of discounts, products and services available to AARP's millions of members through third parties, not by AARP or its affiliates. Many dining offers through third-party restaurants and businesses are available to AARP members year round.
An AARP membership costs just $16 per year and can often be recouped by using just a few of the many discounts available.
