Celebrate National Margarita Day with Skinny Margaritas
DALLAS, Feb. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, Feb. 22, thirsty Americans will celebrate National Margarita Day by toasting the nation's most popular cocktail. In the Dallas area, Mariano Martinez, the inventor of the frozen margarita machine in 1971, will welcome margarita lovers to his area restaurants, Mariano's and La Hacienda Ranch, on Feb. 22 with a margarita special. His popular skinny margaritas will be offered at half price throughout the day in honor of National Margarita Day.
"Our newly introduced skinny margaritas are served on the rocks," said Martinez. "They have quickly developed a loyal following because they're made with natural lemon and lime juices and 100-percent blue agave tequila. The skinny margarita is now the favorite of many of our longtime customers because it is so smooth."
Margarita aficionados don't need to worry about what to do once National Margarita Day is over. Coming up in May will be the 40th anniversary of Mariano's invention of the frozen margarita machine (now on display at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.), and all Mariano's and La Hacienda Ranch restaurants will be headquarters for celebrating Mariano's industry-changing creation.
But first there's a tequila-inspired holiday to enjoy this coming Tuesday.
"People are looking for an excuse to get together with their friends and drink margaritas," said Martinez, "and National Margarita Day on Feb. 22 is the perfect excuse. Thirsty Texans who want to relax and take a load off can do so with our half-priced skinny margaritas served throughout the day."
