DRIPPING SPRINGS, Texas, June 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Saturday, June 3rd 2017, Red Arena will host its annual fundraiser, RED Arena Round Up. RED Arena Round-Up is an inclusive horse show play day for riders of ALL abilities and is an outward expression of Red Arena's mission to promote inclusive opportunities for people with disabilities. The annual Round Up Event also offers an avenue in our community for riders with and without special challenges to join together in fun games on their horses and compete.
Free Family Fun is a fundamental part of the Red Arena Round-Up. There is no charge to park or enter. The event will also have bounce houses, games, mini horses & a petting zoo!
Additionally, visitors to the Round Up may make donations for BBQ, snow cones, raffles and participate the HUGE silent auction. All donations will all benefit the programs at RED Arena.
"The Red Arena Round-Up is our single largest fundraiser of the year," said Jennifer Young, Founder and Executive Director at Red Arena. "Round Up is our chance to showcase local riders with various physical, social and emotional challenges such as Autism, Cancer, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury. These conditions affect more than 500,000 people in the greater Austin/Texas Hill Country areas alone and watching our riders overcome these challenges is inspiring every day."
"2017 has been a pretty exciting and pivotal year for our family and its journey at RED Arena," said Marie Lowman, proud mom of a RED Arena rider. "After riding with Red Arena for 9 years, our daughter, Reagan, took her first solo ride in March and is now taking weekly horseback riding lessons! From therapy 5 days a week as a young child to a vibrant 11-year-old who rides horses on her own; there just aren't perfect words to describe how amazing the staff, volunteers and horses are. We will forever be so grateful for Red Arena and all they have given Reagan and our family," said Lowman.
Over half of the riders at RED Arena participate via a scholarship fund. RED Arena's Board of Directors believes that no client should be turned away due to finances. The Round Up fundraiser is the largest contributor to that fund.
