WASHINGTON, Nov. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tomorrow, the Committee for Economic Development of The Conference Board (CED) will honor Giant Eagle, Inc., and the company's President and CEO, Laura Karet, with the Leadership in the Nation's Interest Award. Steve Odland, the President and CEO of CED, will provide introductory remarks. The nonpartisan, business-led public policy organization reserves this signature award for business executives who lead their companies with the utmost integrity and purpose, and champion issues for the common good.

"Presenting this Award to Laura not only highlights her positive contributions; more importantly, it inspires other executives to follow suit."
"The Committee for Economic Development has had a positive impact on healthy and equitable growth for decades," said Karet. "It is very humbling for Giant Eagle to receive this amazing acknowledgment. On behalf of our 32,000 Team Members, I thank the CED for both this recognition and for its continued important work."
