OAKLAND, Calif., April 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) opens enrollment on April 15 for two courses that prepare attorneys to take California State Bar Legal Specialist Examinations scheduled for late October. CEB's Estate Planning Intensive Course (EPIC) and Family Law Intensive Course (FLIC) ensure that attorneys both understand the substantive law referenced in the exams and attain the test-taking skills that will help them pass the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate test or the Family Law test. Those who enroll by May 31 will receive a $100 discount on the price of their program.
EPIC and FLIC are all-online courses, making them flexible enough to fit busy attorneys' schedules. Both the Estate Planning Intensive Course and the Family Law Intensive Course include twelve weekly lunchtime webinar lectures by experts in their fields, with in-depth study outlines geared to the topics covered in the Legal Specialist Examinations, curated weekly reading assignments from CEB's OnLAW Libraries, suggested videos from CEB's On Demand Continuing Legal Education (CLE) archive, and practice exam questions and sample answers. During the course and for at least a month afterward, EPIC and FLIC participants will enjoy access to all of CEB's Estate Planning and Family Law OnLAW Libraries, respectively, and through January 31, 2018, to the entire CEB On Demand video library.
All course materials are accessible through the EPIC and FLIC learning portals, which are activated on June 1 and available 24/7 via desktop and laptop computers and tablets. Learning portals allow course participants to keep track of and organize their study as well as take part in discussion boards where they can meet and network with others taking the Legal Specialist Examinations.
Weekly lectures (which are recorded and made available for viewing again) begin July 12 and run through September 27, and confer twelve hours toward the California State Bar's Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and specialization requirements. EPIC and FLIC conclude on October 7 with full mock examinations, which assess participants' preparedness and allow time to focus further study before the Legal Specialist Examination on October 24. Participation in the mock exam also confers 6.5 hours of MCLE and specialization credit.
CEB is a program of the University of California that is cosponsored by the State Bar of California. CEB's mission is to provide practical legal resources to help California lawyers achieve success.
