CEB Exceeds Global Impact Goals and Reinforces Commitment to the Social Sector
Company Continues Pro-Bono Efforts to Help Organizations with Talent Management and Leadership Development
ARLINGTON, Va., April 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CEB (NYSE: CEB), the leading member-based advisory company, today announced it exceeded its Global Impact Goals for 2014 by more than 20 percent. These goals, which were to deliver $2 million in value, engage 1,000 social sector leaders and log 30,000 volunteer hours, reinforce the company's commitment to providing talent management and leadership expertise to nonprofit organizations.
"We knew these goals were ambitious, and in typical CEB style our staff rose to the occasion enthusiastically, delivered on our targets and then surpassed them," said Jerry Sorkin, executive director, CEB. "Through a significant increase in both hands-on and skills-based volunteering, we had a greater impact on our communities than ever before."
The recently released CEB in the Community Impact Report highlights the company's achievements against its 2014 Global Impact Goals including:
- Engaged more than 1,250 Nonprofit Leaders – Through community partners and service initiatives, CEB engaged social sector leaders and leveraged the company's expertise to grow the management and organizational capacity of nonprofit organizations.
- Delivered nearly $2.5 Million in Value – CEB delivered more than $2 million of value and support to social sector organizations via pro-bono service, hands-on service and company programs and grants.
- Provided more than 38,000 Volunteer Hours – Individual volunteer activity in 2014 exceeded the company's target by more than 8,000 additional volunteer hours, benefitting social sector organizations around the world.
Through its philanthropy programs, CEB staff has the opportunity to embody the "Spirit of Generosity," one of the company's corporate values. It is this value that enables staff to bring positive social change and have a significant influence on the communities where its employees and business partners live and work.
"At CEB we believe making a community impact is not a one-time or once-a-year activity. With this in mind, in 2015, we are making a concerted effort to expand our pro-bono offerings in order to harness CEB's intellectual capital to better support our community partners," added Sorkin.
Directed towards unlocking the potential of the social sector and its leaders, pro-bono service provides social sector organizations with products and services that are similar to those available to CEB member companies. Pro-bono service also provides CEB staff with unique development and networking opportunities.
To mark the fifth anniversary of its first Global Service Day, CEB is introducing Global Impact Week for 2015, expanding its traditional day of service to a full week of events. All 54 CEB offices around the world will have the chance to get out and give back during the week of May 10-15, 2015. A new aspect of these efforts is the Global Impact Week Fellowships program, where CEB will send 10 staff members on a week-long volunteer trip to Costa Rica.
