OAKLAND, Calif., March 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Continuing Education of the Bar -- California -- CEB announces two preparation courses for attorneys who wish to become certified specialists. Registration for these courses—Estate Planning Intensive Course (EPIC) and Family Law Intensive Course (FLIC)—opens in April 2015.
These two courses are designed to help attorneys acquire the substantive law and the test-taking skills they need to pass the October 27th Specialization Exams. CEB offered EPIC for the first time in 2013; it has now added FLIC and redeveloped the syllabus and interface to give attorneys a more streamlined and structured course.
Sessions are online so participants can either attend the weekly lunchtime sessions to receive participatory MCLE credit, or view the sessions thereafter to receive self-study credit. EPIC and FLIC have a learning portal interface that allows participants the flexibility of a self-guided pace while also providing a study schedule to maintain discipline. On the portal, they can view and keep track of lectures, study outlines, reading and video assignments. They can also access a calendar, additional resources, and a discussion board where attorneys network with others taking the specialization exam.
Each course includes 12 weekly lunchtime webinar lectures with study outlines geared to cover specialization exam topics (earning participants 12 MCLE and Specialization hours). Courses include curated weekly assigned readings and suggested reading and video recommendations from CEB's Family or Estate Planning OnLAW libraries and On Demand CLE video library (unrestricted access to the practice area-specific library and all On Demand videos is included). In addition, practice exam questions and sample answers and a full mock specialization exam are included. Taught by experts, EPIC and FLIC are designed to fully prepare attorneys for the relevant exam.
CEB, a statewide continuing legal education provider and publisher founded in 1947, is a program of the University of California that is co-sponsored by the State Bar of California. Its mission is to provide practical legal resources to help California lawyers achieve success.
