CDC Selects QED for Major Global Health Contract
WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The QED Group, LLC is pleased to announce we have been selected to implement the International Technical, Operational, and Professional Support Services II (ITOPSS II) project, a five-year contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Through this award QED will provide support and professional services for CDC tasks, studies and projects around the world.
"QED is excited by this opportunity to work with the CDC, a new client for us, and to expand on our commitment to health," says QED President David McGuire.
The ITOPSS contract, which carries a ceiling of $250 million, is part of the U.S. government's commitment to improve health around the world. As part of its global mandate, the CDC implements programs to prevent HIV infection, improve care and support to people affected by the virus, and to build global capacity to fight the AIDS epidemic.
ITOPSS allows the CDC to access outside expertise and achieve its mandate. "For the USAID Global Health Technical Assistance Project, QED has developed a strong reputation for placing technical experts in the field, and for helping USAID to measure and achieve its objectives. We look forward to building on that reputation and providing the CDC with the best consultants to achieve their goals," McGuire added.
QED's ITOPSS consortium includes Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, BroadReach Healthcare, and University Research Corporation (URC).
