CCRKBA Says Inslee's Flip-Flop on Taxes, Guns Makes I-1366 Passage Essential
BELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) announced today that it is urging gun rights supporters in Washington State to pass Initiative 1366 in November.
"I-1366 is our chance to send a clear message to Governor Jay Inslee, who has an epically bad record, not just on gun rights, but on taxes as well," said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb.
"As evidenced by the city of Seattle's new guns and ammunition tax, taxation on the exercising of civil rights is now a reality and it's up to us to sound the alarm," Gottlieb said.
"Back in 2012, candidate Jay Inslee ran to the right of Attorney General Rob McKenna, saying 'I would veto new taxes in the state of Washington,' adding that higher taxes were the 'wrong way to go'," Gottlieb recalled.
"But of course, after becoming governor, Inslee flip-flopped and showed his true colors, supporting a new state income tax, capital gains taxes, cap and tax, carbon taxes, fuel taxes, car tab taxes, and of course sales taxes," he continued.
"I'm sure Governor Inslee wouldn't hesitate to sign a new guns and ammo tax into law, just like his comrades on the Seattle City Council," Gottlieb concluded. "He has voiced support for every other type of tax and gun control, and his double talk on raising taxes is a big reason CCRKBA is endorsing I-1366 urging all taxpayers and gun owners to support the measure."
