CCB Hosts Annual 'Christmas in August' School Supply Drive
-- Partners with local schools and agencies for area children in need --
SOUTH HILL, Va., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Citizens Community Bank (CCB) will begin their annual "Christmas in August" school supply drive for area children in need on Monday, August 9th. Now going into its fourth year, this largely successful campaign asks the public to bring in school supplies to any CCB branch for collection.
CCB's partner school and agencies this year are: Belmont Elementary, Chase City Elementary, Children's Support Services, Gaston Middle School, Mecklenburg County Social Services, and Meherrin Powellton Elementary.
"Our staff takes a lot of pride in this campaign each year," says Tom Manson, President and CEO of Citizens Community Bank. "This is a need that we recognized in our area several years ago, and felt that as a community bank, it was our place to do something about it. Every year we are amazed at the generosity of our local people and businesses – the supplies pour in. We have to empty refrigerator boxes before the campaign is halfway through, usually," he continued.
Supplies will be collected beginning Monday, August 9th, through Friday, August 20th. Standard supplies such as glue, notebooks, pencils, and crayons are always popular and appreciated. However, larger items are in higher demand this year such as book bags, kindergarten sleep mats, pencil boxes, binders, and calculators. Contact any CCB branch for questions, or to obtain a wish list.
